Support The Wind Is Us & other plays in the Denver Performing Arts Center Series

Theatre is evolving. A project of Act One Productions, a nonprofit theatrical production company, The Wind Is Us is created to be performed in a wide array of settings. With a table and a chair, the play can be performed anywhere. In fact, the show can go on even without these set pieces. 

With these points noted, because The Wind Is Us is a project of a nonprofit production company, we rely on donors and sponsors to assist in expanding the reach of plays, productions that take on important topics, educate, and entertain. 

Over the course of the past 25 years, arts funding in schools has nearly dried up. Schools look to outside resources in order to assist in enriching the lives of students, including in the realm of the performing arts. With your support, we are able to make educational versions of The Wind Is Us by Mike Broemmel available to universities, colleges, and high schools. 

After a successful premiere in 2022 and critically acclaimed performances in the early days of 2023, The Wind is Us is ready to begin national and then international tours. 

The Wind Is Us is fortunate to have obtained grants to support the launch of this insightful production about the life of Truman Capote. We are able to obtain additional matching grant funding depending on the amount of financial support we are able to obtain from people like you. 

Contributions in any amount are invaluable to the future of The Wind Is Us. All donors will receive recognition on our website, in our social media, and in programs for performances of the play. In addition, donations of $30 and more will receive a signed copy of The Wind Is Us script.

My life story oftentimes has been turned into a caricature by people who have written about me since I've departed the planet. In the case of The Wind Is Us, the creative team has captured by essence fairly, fully, and fundamentally.
